Alex played Prince Charming in his third actor musician Rock n' Roll Pantomime at Leeds City Varieties Music Hall. Last year, he played the role of Aladdin and Simon Steadfast in Sleeping Beauty the year before. He also performed in On The Twentieth Century, alongside the final year students at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The show was choreographed by Bill Deamer, musically directed by Dan Jackson and directed by Martin Connor.
Alex was a member of the 2016 cast of Fingask Follies, performing a cabaret across Scotland and England. He appeared in The Railway Children, playing at London's King's Cross Theatre with a real steam train! He covered the role of Peter, as well as the roles of Jim, and the District Superintendent.
Other past performances include a concert version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Denmark, where he played the lead role of Joseph. He also performed backing vocals in a cabaret with Maria Friedman at The Pheasantry, on King's Road, titled Back to Before. Other credits include Tess of the D'Urbervilles at the New Wimbledon Studio Theatre, an Actor/Musician musical adaptation of the novel, as well as a run of Up From Paradise, Book & Lyrics Arthur Miller, Music Stanley Silverman, in which he originated the role of Lucifer.
Alex is based in London. Having graduated from Durham University with First Class Honours in Music, he has completed the Musical Theatre postgraduate programme at the Royal Academy of Music, where he graduated in July 2014. While studying at the Academy, Alex was trained in Estill Technique under the expertise of leading vocal coaches, Mary Hammond and Anne-Marie Speed.
